Chain mail, still awesome after all these years

Because honestly chain mail is still cool after thousands of years. Here is a great article about the history of chain mail over at myArmoury.com.

I was particularly intrigued by the “Jazerant” style of mail, which is a suit of chain mail in between two layers of fabric like a jacket or coat. It’s like having armor inside the fabric of your favorite hoody. How cool is that? stealth chain mail.

For as long as I can remember I’ve been fascinated and enthralled with medieval weapons and armor. It stems from my great love of fantasy fiction, which is probably a direct result of the fact that my dad used to read to me from “Lord of The Rings” at bedtime. He also used to take me to King Richards Faire, in Massachusetts, every year. I would link it, but the site doesn’t seem to be working at the moment. Just look it up. If you’re in New England anywhere you should check it out. It’s one of my favorites.

Anyhoo, I’m sure I will post more articles about medieval arms and armaments in the future. It’s sort of a given. Swords, armor, and fantasy are pretty much synonymous. And because i just think it’s bitchin.

I used one of WordPress’ stock templates and messed around with the colors. The header I made while fooling around in adobe illustrator, which I like to do for map making.
